At The Abbot Place Partners of East Lansing, we are psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners who evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe medications as part of thoughtful, patient-centered care. We value collaboration, inclusivity, and the belief that you are the expert of your own experience and an essential part of your treatment plan.

Our approach focuses on treating the whole person with the least amount of medication necessary. We view psychiatric care as a partnership—built on the foundation of medication, therapy, and active patient participation. We require patients actively engage in ongoing psychotherapy, as medications are most effective when paired with therapeutic work and supported by healthy routines like sleep, nutrition, and movement. If you need help finding a therapist, we’re happy to help connect you!

Appointments include in person 50-minute intake visits and 20-minute follow-ups. For communication, we ask that all non-urgent concerns be sent through the patient portal, with responses typically provided within three business days. Please note that we do not provide emergency services—if you are experiencing an emergency, please go to the nearest emergency department and follow up with us afterward.

As part of our commitment to education, you may occasionally see a psychiatric nurse practitioner student involved in your visit. We’re proud to support the next generation of providers and appreciate your openness to being part of that process.
